چکیده
Article received on February 22nd, 2010 Article accepted on May 17st, 2010 Abstract Introduction: The present report describes the technique for “inverted L” upper ministernotomy with central canulation for the treatment of simple congenital cardiopathies and presents the initial results. Methods: Ten patients (mean age: 7 ± 4.2 years; mean weight 29.1 ±13.5 kg) were operated on between January 2006 and July 2007. Results: All defects were corrected. No death was observed and no complication that required reintervention occurred. Conclusion: The described technique showed to be feasible and safe for the correction of certain congenital cardiopathies, with less surgical trauma, besides the aesthetic benefit and an expectation of diminished thoracic deformity in the future.

Complications of Corrective Surgery in Preterm Neonates with Congenital Heart Defects: What is the Solution?
Mild congenital heart defects require no treatment, while severe forms of these diseases need immediate interventions. There are several limits in preterm neonates on drug interventions, interventional procedures, and even heart surgery due to the prematurity of pulmonary, renal, and central nervous systems. Considering the mentioned points, the collaboration of other medical professions, parti...

Minimally invasive approach for aortic valve surgery has been developed since 1995, reducing the complications related to the full sternotomy. We have introduced a new method for central cannulation that reduces the length of surgical incision for the aortic valve replacement through upper mini-sternotomy. To improve the surgical view without enlargement of the incision, two small additional in...

Methods 236 patients were included in our study, to whom aortic valve was replaced. The purpose of this study was to examine the potential benefit of double venous cannulation through superior vena cava (SVC) for venous drainage for aortic valve replacement (AVR) in upper mini-sternotomy and right mini-thoracotomy approaches. Five to 7 cm skin incision was made at the level of third intercostal...
